Have you ever had to upgrade your computer or reinstall software after a crash? Do you search and search for the product installation key codes with no luck?
We all know we should keep all our documentation, but sometimes that just does not happen and it is easy to forget where we put that information. Here are two suggestions to make it easier next time:
- Use a sharpie market and write the product key right on the CD, then you just have to remember where you put the CD.
- Using Outlook? Use your Notes in Outlook and have a note for software license keys and product codes. This is also a great place to track support phone numbers.
It can’t hurt to use both of these tips and keep your product codes stored in both places!

Great tips! I either write on the CD or keep part of the original package. Both are stored in a fireproof safe along with passwords and other stuff.
